Sources policy
A review is only as reliable as what it is built on. These are the sources we use, in order of priority.
Primary sources
- The operator's published terms: general terms, bonus terms, promotion pages and the cashier's stated limits.
- Regulators and official bodies: the Gambling Commission for the UK regime, the Advertising Standards Authority for advertising rules, and GOV.UK for tax and consumer law.
- Game studios: published RTP and game information from suppliers such as Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Play'n GO and Evolution.
Support organisations
For responsible gambling information we rely on BeGambleAware, GamCare and GAMSTOP.
Secondary sources
Industry news, forums and other review sites can alert us to a change, but we never publish a figure from them without confirming it at a primary source. Player forum posts are treated as leads, not evidence.
Recording sources
For each review we keep a dated record of the terms consulted, so that any figure can be traced back when a reader queries it or when terms change.
Outbound links
Links to regulators and support services are not paid. Links to the operator are affiliate links and are marked as such, as explained in our affiliate disclosure.
Dates matter
A bonus figure is only true on the day it was read. That is why each review shows a last-checked date, and why we keep the wording of the terms we relied on rather than just the number. When the operator revises a promotion, we compare the new wording with the old line by line, because a change to a single word, such as "bonus" becoming "deposit and bonus" in a wagering clause, can double what a player has to stake. If a source disappears, for instance a promotion page that is taken down, we say that the figure could not be re-confirmed rather than leaving it on the page unchallenged.
